Please attend A+E urgently (by calling 999 in most cases) with any of the following:

Chest pain

Stroke symptoms (facial droop, unable to move arms or legs, Speech slurred or can’t find words)

Head Injury

Bleeding that won’t stop

Allergic reaction involving swelling to mouth or breathing

Road traffic Accident

Minor Injuries

Pharmacy First

High street pharmacists can prescribe treatment for the following conditions. Just walk straight in:

  • impetigo (aged 1 year and over)
  • infected insect bites (aged 1 year and over)
  • earache (aged 1 to 17 years)
  • sore throat (aged 5 years and over)
  • sinusitis (aged 12 years and over)
  • urinary tract infections (UTIs) (women aged 16 to 64 years)
  • shingles (aged 18 years and over)

Mental Health Support

Talking therapies, or psychological therapies, are effective and confidential treatments delivered by fully trained and accredited NHS practitioners. They can help with common mental health problems like stress, anxiety and depression.

Physiotherapy

Self- refer to Cora health, our local Physiotherapy provider. They can also go on to arrange scans, steroid injections, and even refer to hospital specialists where needed. 

Social Care Support

Follow the link for details of support for adults including help to live at home, paying for carers, blue badges etc. 

Sexual Health Services

Go to the Essex Sexual Health Service website for help with contraception (including implants and coils), STDs etc. It's completely confidential, even from your GP.

Visit the website or call 01268 526259 24 hours a day if you need support with Palliative Care. 

Dementia Support

Call for 0300 300 1509 if you urgently need support around Dementia

Weight management

GPs in Essex are unable to prescribe injectable medications for weight loss (ie Mounjaro/ Wegovy). We can refer to NHS weight management teams in a very narrow set of circumstances. If you are unsure if you meet these criteria, send details through Accurx

EWS can help with a massive range of concerns such as smoking cessation, weight management, alcohol addiction, carer support, loneliness etc.
