Bank Holiday Weekend: The surgery will be open, as usual for Saturday morning surgery for those patients who have already booked an appointment. We will then be closed from 10.45 am Saturday until 8.00 am Tuesday 8th May 2018. For emergencies please dial 111.
We have heard the sad news that Dr Din, a single handed practitioner in Billericay, has recently passed away and our thoughts are with his family and all his patients who thought highly of him. NHS England are dispersing Dr Din's list which means his patients have to find another GP in the area. Many have come to Western Road Surgery. Obviously this means that the surgery will have a rapid increase in patient numbers which we were not expecting and it may take us a couple of months to weigh up the way we manage the appointments system. We will have to audit the number of patients requesting on the day appointments vs the number of patients who book in advance and we will try to do this throughout the next couple of months. Hopefully, by the end of the summer, things will have settled down and we can continue to offer the level of service expected by our patients.
If you are a patient registered at OAKDIN surgery, NHS England have asked you to register locally by 8th May 2018 otherwise they will need to allocate you to a GP.
DR ASAD AFIFI: Many of you will remember Dr Asad Afifi who sadly passed away on Monday 12th February 2018. He was a much loved Doctor, colleague and friend and he will be missed by us all here. Please keep him and his family in your thoughts and prayers.
